At the Manhattan outpost of a Coney Island-based legend, an outdoor patio leads to a long, dim room with chalkboard specials against a side wall and baby strollers littered among the tables. Regardless of the noise created by the pitter-patter of tiny feet, service is attentive, friendly and meticulous. The Food Some say this is New York's best pizza, and indeed the sauce is light, the cheese fresh, the crust salted and rightly charred.New York's Best Burgers

An only-in-New-York experience, where corned beef is king and portions are colossal.
This is Woody Allen's New York, a borscht-belt scene of wisecracking waiters, cramped convivial tables and a din just short of Times Square on a Saturday night. Head shots of movie stars are the decor, and undersized tables are tightly arranged.
The Carnegie is renowned for its pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, which are home-cured and deliciously briny, rich, but not fatty, and thicker than a Russian novel. Lean, tender beef brisket also should not be missed. Other favorites are the chubby cheese blintzes with sour cream, succulent baked short ribs with mashed potatoes, Nova Scotia salmon omelet and stuffed cabbage with sweet and sour sauce. The cheesecake will bring you to your knees.Sometimes there is a line to get in ... it's worth the wait.
In our experience DO NOT GO ACROSS THE STREET YOU WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED!Katz's Deli
Katz's Deli is frequented by regulars who've been coming for decades, as well as tourists and neighborhood newbies; occasionally, you might catch a glimpse of a celebrity. Since its establishment in the 1890s, the deli has changed very little in appearance, retaining a grungy sheen. Grab a ticket on the way in for counter service, or seat yourself at a table to be waited on. Katz's still makes about 5,000 pounds of corned beef, 2,000 pounds of salami and 12,000 hot dogs a week--the old-fashioned way, on the premises--and it shows in the massive portions the deli serves. Excellent pastrami is a big draw, as is the deli's Reuben sandwich.

212-744-4333Having been around for more than two decades, Pig Heaven is truly one of our city's treasures. There are so many reasons why Pig Heaven and its owner/hostess Nancy Lee is a great family favorite. Simply put... the food is delightful, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is sleek and modern. Until other Chinese restaurants are innovative enough to have full night Chinese holiday celebrations and performances and live jazz bands performing every Friday and Saturday... Pig Heaven is in its own top notch class. By your second visit, Nancy will already know you, and you'll know her as a dear friend.
