The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
One of America’s leading historic, cultural and educational institutions. Opened in 1982, the Museum has welcomed more than 10 million visitors. The Museum is centered on the aircraft carrier Intrepid (CVS-11), one of the most successful ships in US history, and now a national historic landmark and one of the most unique attractions in New York City. In 1943, Intrepid was commissioned and served proudly in World War II. She went on to serve as one of the primary recovery vessels for NASA, three tours of duty off Vietnam, and submarine surveillance in the North Atlantic during the Cold War. Today she continues her service as a premiere educational center and a monument to all who have served our nation in uniform.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Thursday, November 28, 2013
In 2014 the 85rd Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be held on Thursday, November 29th from 9am to noon. The parade is FREE, so find a spot along the parade route early! In order to get a good viewing spot we suggest you arrive before 8:00am to stake your place along the route. If you are really serious about being in the front row, consider arriving before 7:00am. The average morning temperature at this time of year here in New York is about 40 degrees (5 degrees Celsius) and it goes without saying that you should be sure to wear warm clothes, ideally in layers that you can remove as the day warms up. It is a good idea to bring a thermos full of something warm. The parade begins at 9:00am at 77th Street and Central Park West and snakes its way down to Macy's flagship department store at Herald Square, 34th Street and 6th Ave. The entire parade lasts about three to four hours. However, the duration of the parade for spectators will depend on where you view it from: near the beginning of the route, it will last about 1 1/2 hours, closer to Macy's, the parade will last closer to 3 hours.

Le Carrousel in Bryant Park
Especially created to complement the park’s French classical style, is an homage to both European and American traditions. Its fourteen delightful animals, replicas of classic carousel creatures, revolve to the sounds of French cabaret music. The rounding boards, inspired by Bryant Park’s elegant baroque-style torchères along 40th Street, blend into the leafy canopy of the park’s plane trees.

Events in Central Park New York City 2014
Central Park is a large public, urban park in the heart of New York City and is host to approximately twenty-five million visitors each year. Central Park has been a National Historic Landmark since 1963. The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and architect Calvert Vaux. While much of the park looks natural, it is in fact almost entirely landscaped. It contains several natural-looking lakes and ponds, extensive walking tracks, two ice-skating rinks (one of which is a swimming pool in July and August), the Central Park Zoo, the Central Park Conservatory Garden, a wildlife sanctuary, a large area of natural woods, a reservoir with an encircling running track, and the outdoor Delacorte Theater which hosts the "Shakespeare in the Park" summer festivals. 85% of the park's operating budget comes from private sources via the Central Park Conservancy, which manages the park pursuant to a contract with New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
